The Calabresi in America Organization offers scholarship opportunities to students of Calabrian descent. As a result of the generosity of our members, we are able to offer these scholarships. We are committed to investing in the future our organization’s family members.

The Calabresi in America scholarship committee will evaluate applications based on the following criteria:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Composition of personal essay (completed on the google form application)
  • Involvement in CIAO and school activities
  • Leadership Roles / Personal Recognition

To be eligible for the Calabresi in America Organization Scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Be of Calabrian descent and identify the region of Calabria from where their family originated
  • Have a sponsor that is a member in good standing of CIAO for the last 3 consecutive years
  • Be accepted to and enrolled in a four year College or University
  • Submit an academic transcript via email from the high school or college they were enrolled in for the 2020-2021 school year
  • Describe why this scholarship would be of importance to the applicant
  • Write an essay describing yourself and your calabrian heritage (on google forms)
  • Complete and submit the scholarship application (on google forms)

The scholarship funds will be mailed directly to the attending College or University. All decisions made by the scholarship committee are final.

Scholarship Applications can be obtained by contacting any CIAO member around April/May of every year. 

Completed Applications must be returned to CIAO no later than August 1st of each year.
